Today I began to think about the Holidays this year. As I was meal prepping for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving Dinner, I thought of how different this Holiday will be. This led me to be very thankful for all the things that I may normally take for granted. Finally, I decided to make a list of what I want for this Holiday Season.
I have read that in the New Thought philosophy, the Law of Attraction is the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person’s life. I believe that you can not just think of something, and hope it will happen. You have to take positive action. I do believe there is something to be said for putting into words the things you want in your life.
We often think we know what we want, but when you sit down and actually write down what you want, it can be an eye-opening experience. Your priorities are made clear, when your desires are put into words.
Thus, I am writing a letter to Santa for the first time in decades! I’m sitting down and thinking about what I really want this year.
After careful consideration, I have decided to write about what I want for the holidays. Here’s what I’m asking for:
I believe that a lot of these things are within my control (patience, mindfulness, etc.). Writing them down is a great reminder to me about how I want to act and feel during the holiday season.
Writing a letter to Santa as an adult sounds silly, but I actually found it to be a great way to really think about how I want to make the holidays as positive and present as possible. I encourage you to try to write your very own letter to Santa.
Finally, I have the following wishes for all of you:
• Have a peaceful holiday
• May you get to spend time with your friends and family
• May you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy
